Values at Sea Podcast

In the run up to the workshop in Exeter in 2023 we recorded several short interviews with workshop participants – researchers from different disciplines but all with a marine focus – which are now available online as podcast episodes. See below to listen and for more information. The interviews were conducted by Sonia Levy (an independent artist with an interest in oceanic worlds) and Elis Jones (a PhD student at the University of Exeter working at the intersection of philosophy, sociology and coral reef science). They were funded by the South West Doctoral Training Partnership.

About the podcast

This podcast features interviews with researchers working on topics related to the ocean, the study of the ocean, and the various ways marine environments are important to different forms of life. These researchers were part of an interdisciplinary workshop held in Exeter in April 2023, and the podcast is designed to give a deeper insight into the work of some of these workshop participants. Each episode focuses on the research of a specific person, as well as their relationship with the sea, including political and personal connections.
